For everyone who has patiently been waiting for Supersex to land on Netflix, the time has finally arrived and we’re here to tell you our thoughts on this campy dramatized story which is loosely based on the life of Rocco Siffredi.
For those of you unaware of the name, Rocco is an Italian porn star who is well-known in the industry and all across the world. Through Supersex, you get a little peek into his life and rise to fame.
There’s plenty to look forward to when it comes to Supersex, considering it might just be one of the most explicit yet progressive series to premiere on Netflix so far.
Lots worked for this series, while some things did not, and you can read about it all right here, so make sure you don’t skip it!
Dark, Bold, and Sexy!
Because Supersex is loosely based on the life of Rocco Siffredi, and loosely being the keyword here, there’s no doubt that sex would be an important element of the series, in all 7 episodes.
While this series might be a good binge, we can’t say it’s the perfect binge, simply because it seemed a little too heavy to consume all at once. There were the obvious themes of sex, love, lust, and passion, but there were also notes of loneliness, family relationship, and the functionality of the porn industry.

Alessandro Borghi played the role of Rocco, and he was undoubtedly the best part of the series. Once you watch Borghi play this role, it will be nearly impossible for you to replace the face of Rocco in this series, because that’s just how brilliantly he took on the role.
Aside from Borghi, several other things worked for Supersex, especially the different timelines that showcased different parts of Rocco’s life, reflecting on a man’s internalized struggles with sex, his own manhood, relationships, and much more.

Supersex is a Must Watch
Netflix’s Supersex has been advertised as a biographical drama, and while it stands true to the genre to a certain extent, one can see clearly that dramatization and exaggeration have both played important parts in Supersex, however, it wasn’t always a bad thing. Supersex was shockingly campy and colorful but in contrast also brooding and dark at certain points. However, it always maintained balance.

If there’s one criticism we have for Supersex, it’s that this idea could have worked better as a feature-length movie as compared to a 7-part series. Certain parts felt repetitive and dragged on from time to time, and would have possibly worked better as a movie.
Nevertheless, Supersex which is now exclusively streaming on Netflix is a must-watch!
